25 years of Aalberts: Jan Aalberts awarded Royal Honour

Aalberts Industries N.V. celebrated its 25th anniversary on Saturday, 20 May.

Launched in 1975 with a staff of 6, Aalberts has grown into an international industrial group with more than 4,000 employees and turnover in 2000 of around one billion Dutch guilders.

During the gala evening to commemorate the company’s 25th anniversary, Mr Jan Aalberts, founder and President & CEO of Aalberts, was appointed as Officer in the Order of Orange Nassau, one of the Netherlands’ most prestigious honours. The appointment was in recognition of his services for and involvement in the development of Dutch industry.

The award was presented on behalf of the Minister for Economic Affairs by one of her top civil servants.

Later in the evening, Mr Aalberts presented the organisation AMREF Flying Doctors with a cheque to support a number of vital projects.

As part of the celebration, all employees were issued with staff options.
